Monday 23/05/2011

A bit thin on the ground this week, only five of us for most of our Monday night play session. For those who turned up we spent most of the evening playing with a Lafayette HE-40 which Ian gave me to play with. It basically works but needs some TLC to fix a couple of minor faults. As I said to Ian, I am pleased it needs a bit of work because I enjoy doing this sort of thing.

This is the radio:

and Circuit

We are CLOSED MONDAY 30/05/2011 due to a bank holiday.

Lots of tea, coffee and biscuits all night long. A great night out.

Monday 16/05/2011

This Monday we had a talk by Derek G3WHK. The subject was an Introduction to Contesting followed by a couple of videos of the Sutton and Cheam Radio Society contesting years ago.

The purpose of this talk was to generate some interest in contesting in the near future.

I am sure all 12 of us enjoyed the evening which ended in a general natter.

Monday 09/05/11

Our first play night for a couple of weeks, a chance to catch up on events.

Neil and Steve were setting up an 80 metre inverted L antenna in the car park. This was something Neil purchased at the Kempton rally.

We had two new visitors and I think both Ray and Fred enjoyed themselves. Ray is looking to join our next Foundation Course.

Andy was doing some Dstar with Chris in the back room.  All in all, a lot going on.

Next Monday we have a talk on contesting by Derek G3WHK.

The tea and coffee flowed all evening.
