Monday 21/05/2012

Back at the Scout Hut again. This week we started by putting away all the gear we used last Saturday for the Sutton United Fun Day.

The Kenwood TS-2000 was out and being used again by the younger members who greatly enjoy operating HF with a good radio and antenna.

Warren turned up to show us his new R1155 receiver which he purchased at Dunstable down Rally.

Chris and I reprogrammed my Icom IC-208e which I intend to use in the car instead of my 70cm PMR rig.

Plus lots of radio discussion while drinking tea and coffee.

This week we spent some time playing with a softrock software transceiver. It was not very happy and after we tried various versions of software but concluded it was faulty.

A good discussion was being held in the main hall on various topics which seemed very lively.

We also took the time to do last minute checking of the equipment list for the special event station on the coming Saturday.

Saturday 19/05/2012

We have been asked to run a special event station for Sutton United Football Club on their Fun Day. This we were glad to do because we meet monthly in the club house of Sutton United. Below are a few pictures of the event:

Monday 07/05/2012

The Scout hall was closed last week so no Monday night meeting.

This Monday we are back as normal and all are welcome.  I hope to finalise the Sutton United Fun Day for next Saturday the 19th.

I am planning to bring along my softrock kit which I was talking to Steve and Denis about the other week.

All in all it’s up to you what you want to do. Bring along something or even operate the club station.

See you Monday , the tea and coffee will be flowing and there’s biscuits in the tin.

Monday 30/04/2012

I had a very relaxing evening for me after a weekend of training. Laurence turned up and is very happy after passing his Intermediate Exam.

Paul came with his new rig an Icom ID-E880 Dstar radio. Chris and Alex sat down with Paul and set it up and then went on the air.

Denis came back from the microwave round table at the weekend with an interesting box of tricks.

We will not be at the Scout Hall this coming Monday 07/05/2012 due to it being a Bank Holiday.
