This Monday turned
into a multi-meter fixing day. I got given a small multi-meter for my collection
which I took to show the guys. John turned up with an AVO 8 and AVO 7. After
checking both meters were found to require batteries although the AVO 8 had its
15 volt battery fitted the wrong way round. The AVO 7 had some of its 9 volt
connectors missing and was temporary rewired for testing.
Steve turned
up with an old Racal Bench Digital Multi-meter and we spent some time looking
at this meter as well.
Chris did
some more work on his voice keyer project which is almost complete.
The younger
member spent some time operating the Kenwood TS-2000.
The Church who owns the Scout hall are using it this Monday night (23/07/12),
therefore we can’t use it. For those of you who want to meet up Monday, Denis
is going to organise a radio fox hunt. We plan to meet at the car park at the
end of The Drive. This is only a few hundred metres from the scout hall.
If you are coming and can’t find us we will be monitoring 145.500Mhz or
call me on the mobile.
